Hello from rainy Seattle

Seattle welcomed me (and Miikka) with rain, what a big surprise! I already found one Derek, so this week looks promising:P




Minneapolis (connecting flight took off from there) welcomed me with a lot of snow, and lovely clouds that made me wanna jump on them..






Philadelphia international airport at 6 (or so) AM, Ann-Cathrin and rocking chairs!






I've been up almost 24 hours, so it's certainly time for some sleep. Today was a lovely, lovely day because of oh so many reasons, and I am really looking forward to the rest of my vacation days. I have to say that I already love Seattle..

Ann-Cathrin and I have been sitting at the airport since 5.30, I'm glad our vacations happened to fall for the same week cuz otherwise I would have been so bored today! Have a nice week where ever you are, I am going to enjoy my Derek hunt!

days 158 and 159

Packing. OH how I hate it. I've been tying to pack, but for some stupid reason I'm still not quite done. Maybe I shouldn't spend my time at Starbucks browsing on the net?

Today I've been OFF all day, let me just tell you how amazing it was! I slept till my dear Ann-Cathrin called and woke me up around 11, after which I browsed on the net for a good half an hour. After that I decided it's time for breakfast (in front of the TV, of course), I made chocolate chip pancakes with a bowl of fruits and some strawberry kiwi yogurt. Yummy! Next I decided to browse on the net a little more.. At some point I threw some clothes in my carry on, then I realized I need to run some errands (for example get some cash for the train) so besides the bank I ended up browsing on the net at Starbucks for couple of hours.. I came home for like an hour (to pack and print out some flight information..), I of course browsed on the net a little to make the packing a little more fun.. Then I went back to Starbucks to play some cards (and browse on the net) with Chris. I came home again for an hour or so to start writing this and to give the kids huge long hugs. Now I'm almost on my way to pick Ann-Cathrin up from the train station, and then we'll go out for dinner (cheeeseeee, here I come!). So how amazing is it to be off all day when the others are working? AMAZING. :D

Oh I almost forgot to tell about yesterday.. I spent the morning with L, she was a little sick so we didn't do anything special (expect from the Walgreens thing). In the afternoon I started thinking about packing, and in the evening I babysitted cuz my host dad's parents came over so my host parents went out for dinner with them. I watched Grey's anatomy and went to bed early, yay. Tomorrow I'll set the course for Seattle and my very own Derek, YAY!!!!!

I thought I wasn't shy..

..but America has changed my viewpoint (at least in some things). I think I should start keeping a diary of the guys I've turned down here.. Today I went to Walgreens (with my host kid!) which led me to writing down one more name on my imaginary list. Seriously, what is this American (?) thing, why do they have to hit on people everywhere? And I really mean everywhere. I guess I need to stop being nice to people.. :S But the worst part is that I don't find myself so attractive that these people would have any reason to hit on me, so their hitting attempts come out of the blue, every single time. Can you imagine I have really started loving Finnish shyness? ....... Me neither.

days 155, 156 and 157

Monday was a weird day, as I already mentioned.. I worked and played cards at Starbucks with the swedes. If I remember correct I kicked their asses (of course).

Tuesday was a great day. Tuesday made me feel terrific. Cucumber and Mari had decided to spam my wall on Facebook, so with my breakfast I 'enjoyed' 72 notifications (with a few actually very nice comments from other friends, of course ;P). I had a quiet morning because L decided to sleep late. In the afternoon I enjoyed some cheesecakes with Leena, who is about to fly home. Poor her. Feels weird not seeing her again in the States.. I don't even want to think about August, when it's my turn to go home. Horrible.

Wednesday has been an awesome day. I thought the snowstorm is gonna ruin this day, but in fact it made it stupendous. The roads were cleared (meaning: I could easily take R to works, and safely as well, of course..), I got to sleep till noon, have breakfast in front of the TV, lie on my bed and just take it easy till late afternoon. Ann-Cathrin came over to entertain the girls and me, and though we ended up cleaning up beads on the basement floor for like half an hour we managed to enjoy ourselves. The girls totally love her, so we always have such a good time with the kids running around us. I even took out my camera to take a few pictures, was about time to take some (since I took the last pics on New Year's)! Tonight was named as girls' night, and it certainly has been that. I found out Ann-Cathrin dated a guy with a Wikipedia page, which almost made me fell off my bed. We've listened cheesy songs and talked about boys. A girls' night indeed. This should a weekly tradition, cuz it's so amusing.

U should never date a guy with a wikipedia page. Or maybe U should, at least Ann-Cathrin should not have dumped her wikipedia guy cuz he was freaking hot.
